The beach is still the heart of Sea Isle City.
A quiet morning walk, an afternoon in the sun, or an evening by the water can be enough to make a day feel complete. Sea Isle’s sandy shoreline remains one of the city’s biggest attractions, and it is easy to understand why.
The Sea Isle City Promenade stretches from 29th Street to 57th Street and is a favorite place for walking, running, biking, or simply enjoying the ocean air.
There are benches, picnic areas, shade pavilions, and restrooms along the way, making it an easy activity for almost any age. Seasonal biking and skating hours are also offered during the warmer months.
Excursion Park is one of the liveliest gathering spots in town.
During the summer season, the park hosts free concerts, family nights, movies under the stars, festivals, and other community events. It is also home to the seasonal farmers market on Tuesday mornings.
Sea Isle is just as beautiful from the bay side as it is from the beach.
Fishing, kayaking, boating, paddleboarding, and birdwatching are all great ways to experience the back bays and wetlands. Dealy Field includes a fishing pier and kayak launch, and the city also maintains the Frank P. Edwardi Sr. Sea Isle City Marina.
For something quieter, head south to Townsend Inlet Waterfront Park.
The park includes a dune path, fishing access, picnic areas, a shaded pavilion, and a peaceful view of the inlet. It is a lovely place to slow down, take photos, or simply sit and enjoy the water.
If you enjoy local history, stop by the Sea Isle City Historical Museum, located inside the Sea Isle branch of the Cape May County Library at 4800 Central Avenue.
The museum focuses on local history and memories of Sea Isle City’s past and is an interesting stop on a rainy day or when you want a break from the beach.
Sea Isle has plenty of ways to stay active while you’re visiting.
Seasonal beach yoga is offered during the warmer months, and the city’s new Community Center includes fitness and recreation spaces for residents and visitors.
Families have plenty of options beyond the beach.
Dealy Field includes sports courts, fields, a playground, and walking areas, while several other parks throughout town offer playgrounds and recreation spaces. Free family entertainment is also scheduled seasonally at Excursion Park.
One of the best things about Sea Isle City is that not every day needs an itinerary.
A bike ride, a walk by the water, a leisurely meal, a stop at the farmers market, or a sunset by the bay can be just as memorable as a full day of planned activities.
